Business Challenge

The DOE and NNSA needed to liquidate hundreds of thousands of pieces of unused nuclear grade equipment from the MOX project nuclear power plant in South Carolina after it was cancelled by Congress due to vendor fraud.

Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS)– the prime contractor working with the DOE and NNSA on the cancelled project–sent requests for proposals to auction companies around the country in its search for the most qualified small business to auction these assets. After proposals were submitted and reviewed by SRNS, the DOE and the NNSA, AW Properties Global and its online auction platform, AuctionWorks, was ultimately awarded the contract for the liquidation of these assets.
